A restaurant worker in Alabama robbed his job, but failed miserably at disguising himself. After wrapping up his shift at Jack's restaurant in Pinson Friday (July 27), Zackary Dexter Pace, threw on a mask and went back inside the eatery to commit the robbery.
His confused co-workers thought it was all a joke, and although he
did get away with an undisclosed amount of money, his disguise was so
bad that he was immediately implicated.
The manager called 911 after the robbery to report Pace. "The disguise was a basic black mask showing his eyes," explained Chief Deputy Randy Christian. "The
employees recognized him immediately by his eyes and the poor attempt
he made at trying to disguising his voice and the way he was dressed. In
fact, at first they told him to stop joking before they realized he was
serious."
By Monday (July 30) police were interviewing employees about the
crime, and Pace popped back up at the restaurant to visit his
co-workers.
Pace, 24, was arrested and faces a first-degree robbery charge. His is being held on $20,000 bond.
