Paul Pasquarosa thought he had bought himself the best birthday present ever: The Boston man purchased a scratch ticket the day before his birthday, and believed he had won a $1 million jackpot. But, when a lawyer looked closely at the ticket, he found there was an offset in the printing. Turns out Pasquarosa had bought a misprinted ticket, and lottery officials have no intention of paying out. Officials said they tried to take the defective tickets out of circulation when they learned of the printing problem, but the 2,200 misprints were in a batch of 20 million.
