Another Round Of Battle For Zimmerman: George Zimmerman Suing NBC Over Editing of 911 Tape

George Zimmerman, who tragically shot and killed Trayvon Martin back in February, is suing NBC over an error made by the network in regards to his 911 tape. It's been reported that NBC producers wrongly edited the 911 call Zimmerman made just before he shot the 17-year-old unarmed teenager. The change made to the tape suggests that Zimmerman immediately stated that Trayvon Martin was black, but in actuality he only revealed that information when asked about it during the 911 call.

Sources say Zimmerman's attorneys will name NBC's top executives, Steve Capus and correspondent Ron Allen, in the suit.

"The suit will be filed imminently against NBC and its news executives. The network's legal department has put everybody in the news department involved with this incident on notice, telling them not to comment," the source stated.

During its internal investigation, NBC News relieved several employees of their duty after interviewing them. It was also reported that a veteran producer was to blame for the botched 911 call edit and that executives of the network were unaware this mistake was made. NBC declined to comment on the matter and Zimmerman's attorney, Mark O'Mara, could not be reached for a statement.
