People Lookin For That Easy Check: Ludacris Engaged in Legal Battle Over His Label Name

Fans of Ludacris have heard him say "Disturbing The Peace" in his music since he first stepped into the mainstream spotlight.  His record label is legally known as "Disturbing Tha Peace Entertainment," and on October 1st, a lawsuit was filed against him, his mother, and his label.

According to the lawsuit, which was filed in the District Court for the Northern District of Dallas, Texas, a couple by the names of Demetri Brown and Donna Evans-Brown are alleging that Ludacris' "Disturbing Tha Peace" label name is infringing on their own personal trademark phrase "Disturb The Peace."

They claim to have used "Disturb The Peace" in various forms of commerce since 1988 by adding the phrase to audio, video, and musical entertainment products.  The Browns are claiming that Luda illegally filed a trademark registration for his "Disturbing Tha Peace" back in March 2011.  They are seeking an injunction to block the use of his "Distubring Tha Peace" title for commerce in Texas.
