Writing Checks...With No Money: Bankrupt Toni Braxton Accused of Giving Husband $53k

Toni Braxton filed for bankruptcy back in 2010 after claiming that she owed between $10-$50 million in debt. Although she's been earmarked to repay her creditors, Toni recently gave her estranged husband $53,490 in order to avoid paying off her credit debts, according to official documents. The bankruptcy trustee is now suing Toni's husband, Keri Lewis, in order to get the money back.

One of Toni's reps reported to TMZ:

"All of the payments made to Lewis prior to Toni's bankruptcy filing were appropriate transfers for reasonable and necessary personal and business expenses in the ordinary course of her business."
