22-year-old Marquis Baldwin of Pensacola, Fla., reportedly robbed four businesses between Nov. 20 and Jan. 9 in an attempt to raise enough money to pay off his girlfriend's probation fees, according to the Press-Register.
Three of the robberies occurred at Waffle House restaurants, with the fourth taking place at a Kangaroo gas station.
Police used surveillance footage to track down Baldwin, who told cops he committed the crimes so he could pay the cost related to his girlfriend's probation. According to PNJ.com, he was able to successfully pay all the fees by the time of the final robbery.
Baldwin has been charged with four counts of armed robbery and six counts of aggravated assault, and is being held on $80,000 bond in the Escambia County Jail.
