Losing The Flavor: Flavor Flav Is About To Lose His Last Chicken & Ribs Joint

Flavor Flav's acumen as a business is looking very suspect. The Public Enemy rapper and reality star's last fried chicken joint in Michigan is in danger of closing.

Reports TMZ:

Flavor Flav's run as a fast food mogul could be over in a matter of weeks ... because the last of his fried chicken joints has been hit with eviction papers ... TMZ has learned.

Flavor Flav's Chicken & Ribs in Sterling Heights, MI has been accused of stiffing its landlord out of rent since the day it opened back in December 2012.  FYI -- FFC&R is the last of 3 fried chicken joints Flav has tried to open in the past few years ... one sputtered out in Iowa in 2011 and the other one died a slow painful death in Vegas in 2012.

Now, according to court docs obtained by TMZ, the Michigan location is also on the ropes ... unless it finds a way to come up with $25,000 (missing rent + late fees + damages).  The papers show ... FFC&R was late in making its monthly $3,500 monthly rent payment back in Sept and October -- and stopped paying altogether in November.  The landlord warned Flav's restaurant about the problem back in January ... and just a few weeks ago, went back to the court in hopes a judge will kick Flav to the curb, stat.  We called Flav about the crisis ... and he told us he had no idea the restaurant was in trouble. But the rapper insists, "I'm gonna figure out what's going on and get to the bottom of this ASAP!"

Flav is currently on the latest season of VH1's Couples Therapy. He is also going on trial for threatening his girlfriend/fiancee Liz Trujillo's son with a butcher knife. If convicted, the "911 Is A Joke" rapper is facing up to 12 years in prison.

Struggle Continues: Iverson $40K Behind On Child Support Payments. His Ex-Wife Wants Him Thrown In Jail.

Allen Iverson went through a bitter divorce with his ex-wife Tawanna Iverson.

In February a judge gave Tawanna legal and physical custody of their five kids.

The judge also ordered A.I. to cough up $8000 a month in child support for the kids, but according to his ex, he hasn't paid her a dime of what he owes.

Tawanna has now filed new court documents asking a judge to force Iverson to pay$40,000 in back child support and throw him in jail in necessary.

If you follow RiFF RaFF on Twitter, then you know he gets a little wild with the tweets sometimes. But as of late, Riff has been really keeping it real. He sent out a series of tweets Friday night, essentially suggesting he hasn't blown up because of his color.

On Friday night, Riff Raff tweeted, "iF I WAS BLACK OR iF i WAS A WHITE GiRL THEN i WOULD HAVE 10 ViDEOS ON MTV & WOULD HAVE A SONG WiTH EVERY MAJOR ARTiST."

Struggle Is Real: Lauryn Hill Issues Statement, Reveals Label Deal With Sony

Lauryn Hill has been in the news plenty lately thanks to a pending sentence for tax evasion, which inadvertently revealed that she has a new record deal with Sony Music. Ms. Hill has issued a statement clarifying her new venture (it's a label deal) that also partly comments on her legal and financial troubles, as well as her future plans.

Part of Hill's self-imposed exile from the music industry was her disdain from its practices, which she has also pointed to as an explanation for not paying her taxes. But the irony getting back down with the machine, as well as earning a label millions upon millions of dollars with her only getting a relatively small bit of that loot, is not lost on her.

"Only a completely complicated set of traps, manipulations, and inequitable business arrangements could put someone who has accomplished the things that I have, financially in need of anything," she wrote.  Hill is due back in front of the judge to find out her sentence on May 6. She is hoping for probation.

It has been reported that I signed a new record deal, and that I did this to pay taxes. Yes, I have recently entered into an agreement with Sony Worldwide Entertainment, to launch a new label, on which my new music will be released. And yes, I am working on new music.

I've remained silent, after an extensive healing process. This has been a 10+ year battle, for a long time played out behind closed doors, but now in front of the public eye. This is an old conflict between art and commerce… free minds, and minds that are perhaps overly tethered to structure. This is about inequity, and the resulting disenfranchisement caused by it. I've been fighting for existential and economic freedom, which means the freedom to create and live without someone threatening, controlling, and/or manipulating the art and the artist, by tying the purse strings.

It took years for me to get out of the ‘parasitic' dynamic of my youth, and into a deal that better reflects my true contribution as an artist, and (purportedly) gives me the control necessary to create a paradigm suitable for my needs. I have been working towards this for a long time, not just because of my current legal situation, but because I am an artist, I love to create, and I need the proper platform to do so.

The nature of my new business venture, as well as the dollar amount reported, was inaccurate, only a portion of the overall deal. Keep in mind, my past recordings have sold over 50,000,000 units worldwide, earning the label a tremendous amount of money (a fraction of which actually came to me).

Only a completely complicated set of traps, manipulations, and inequitable business arrangements could put someone who has accomplished the things that I have, financially in need of anything. I am one artist who finds value in openly discussing the dynamics within this industry that force artists to compromise or distort themselves and what they do, rather than allowing them to make the music that people need. There are volumes that could (and will) be said.
