BREAKING NEWS: 14-year-old girl abducted in Clayton Co. home invasion

ELLENWOOD, Ga. —

Clayton County police are searching for a 14-year-old girl who was abducted during a home invasion.

Police said Ayvani Hope Perez was abducted early Tuesday morning from her home at 3894 Brookgate Drive in Ellenwood.

Police said Ayvani is 4 feet, 9 inches tall, weighing 93 pounds with brown eyes and black hair. She was last seen wearing blue and grey Star Wars pajama bottoms and a blue and grey super hero shirt.

Police told Channel 2's Amanda Cook the men broke into the back of the home around 2:15 a.m. and the mother called 911 and tried to hide her two children. The men demanded money and jewelry, but when the mother did not have anything to give them, the men shot and wounded the family dog and took Ayvani.

In a news conference Tuesday morning, Clayton County police Officer Phong Ngyuen said the abductors were both black men, but he did not have an age range or any description of the men's build or what they were wearing.

"We are extremely concerned, because if anybody could hurt a puppy just like this, what else could they do. We are very concerned," Ngyuen said.

She was last seen with two armed men who left the home in a grey Dodge or Chrysler sedan.
