1 Radio Facts: Tell us about your latest products
Wilt Wallace: Currently we are on our 2nd week at #1 on the Rhythm chart with Jason Derulo’s single “Talk Dirty”. Jason’s new album, also titled “Talk Dirty”, will be in stores this Tuesday April 15th. Also keep an eye out for Nico & Vinz “Am I Wrong”, it’s off to a great start at Top 40 and gaining some early interest at Rhythm as well
2 RF: You’ve worked in many capacities during your rise in the industry, which one taught you the most?
WW: Being an intern taught me the most, when you start at the bottom you gain an appreciation and understanding for every aspect of the business. It forces you to be humbled and learn as much as possible in order to grow.
3 RF Name 5 industry people that you greatly admire.
WW: Lee L’Heureux – Hardest working person I ever met and great person of strong character.
Peter Gray – Incredible Leader and motivator. Unmatched direction, execution and passion.
Nicole Sellers – One of the most honest down to earth people I know.
Orlando McGhee – My mentor in the game and one of the most knowledgeable people I know.
Brannon Scales – The 1st person at a major label to believe in me and offer me an opportunity.
4 RF: What advice would you give someone just starting who wants to be were you are in half the time?
WW: Don’t be afraid to take risks! If you believe in something, don’t be afraid to stand up and fight for it. Early in my career I played it safe and didn’t speak up, by doing so, I think it took longer for my true talents and abilities to be noticed. Greater the risk, greater the reward.
5RF: How important are industry trades?
WW: Very important, in the “information age” there aren’t many things more important than information. The information provided by trades are a big asset to my work every single day.
