C'mon Man!: Florida Mom Arrested For Leaving Children In Car To Attend Lil Wayne Concert

Lil Wayne can make a crazy mom do some bad things.

Being that he's a father of four, there's a good chance Tunechi wouldn't want a fan to leave her children in the car just to see him on stage. But Brittany Nicole Harris didn't care. She was going to see Weezy by any means necessary. 

Employees at South Florida's Cruzan Amphitheatre, where the "America's Most Wanted Tour" went down Sunday (July 14), noted two youngsters in the car at around 7 p.m. The children, ages 3 and 5, were questioned and told the worker that their mother was at the concert. Harris was approached leaving the venue and lied about abandoning her offspring.

 “She originally said her cousin brought the kids here, but then she confessed that she came here and left the kids to stay in the car so she could watch the concert,” read the arrest report filed by a Palm Beach County Sheriff's deputy. The 25-year-old was arrested and released on $20,000 supervised bond early Tuesday (July 16). Her children were taken by the state's Department of Children and Families. - 

Getting Out Of Hand: 4 People Shot In Chicago Over Holiday Weekend

Seriously, how long before Chicago is officially named a federal disaster area? At least 74 people were shot in Chicago over the holiday weekend beginning Wednesday, July 3. 

The Chicago Tribune reports: One man was killed and six other people wounded in two South Side shootings Sunday, authorities said. In the latest incident, five people were shot in the 11300 block of South Forest Avenue in Roseland about 8:10 p.m. in what was believed to be a landlord-tenant dispute, officials said.

Sunday's attacks brought to at least 74 the number of people shot since Wednesday afternoon in Chicago, with 12 of those victims killed. Four people were transported in serious-to-critical condition from the Forest Avenue shooting by Chicago Fire Department ambulances, fire department spokesman Chief Juan Hernandez said.

 A fifth person was taken to Roseland Hospital in good-to-fair condition, Hernandez said. These aren't just gang members offing each other. Two young boys, ages five and seven, were shot on July 4 and are in critical condition.

Andddd Again: Lil Scrappy Fails Drug Test, Heading To Rehab For Kush

The life of Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta's Lil Scrappy is coming apart at the seams. The Atlanta rapper has failed a drug test and has admitted that he is addicted to kush. Also folks, Scrap is heading to rehab.

Lil Scrappy believes he's addicted to weed ... and after failing a court-ordered drug test, the rapper will enter a rehab facility for treatment, TMZ has learned.

Scrappy appeared in a Georgia courtroom moments ago, where officials revealed a urine test Scrappy took last week came back positive for marijuana.  TMZ spoke with Scrappy's lawyer, Mawuli Mel Davis, who tells us ... the rapper will check into a rehab facility before June 16.  Davis also tells us ... Scrappy acknowledges he's addicted to smoking weed.  We broke the story ... Scrappy was recently jailed for violating his probation back in March after a dispute over a different pee test. According to court officials, Scrappy tried to turn in a urine sample that was cold to the touch and may have been tampered with ... and when asked to submit another cup, he refused.

To compound Scrappy's struggle, his wages are being garnished for unpaid debt.

The rapper recently sent out a tweet aimed at his on again off again fiancee, and Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta castmate, Erica Dixon. "Sorry to say the women n my life didnt put me on I put them on so how can they b richer than me , think people lol dnt listen to angry folks," he tweeted on Monday (May 20). "I'm so regretful of even tryin to get married n puttin that girl onna show who tries to ruin their baby daddy life n he help build urs."

Well Damn!: Groom Reported Missing During Honeymoon, Found With Prostitute

Holy matrimony is no match for the strength of hookers. Don't believe us? Well we have proof, and his name is Mohammed Amed.  Amed, of Illinois, headed to Florida last week to honeymoon with his new bride. The newlyweds were staying at the Omni Hotel when the 21-year-old went missing, prompting the wife to file a report with police.

What she didn't know was that her new hubby was actually one of nearly 100 "customers" busted in a prostitution ring. Among those taken into custody was a 45-year-old youth minister looking to have intercourse with a 14-year-old girl, and an Orlando man arrested for buying the services of a 15-year-old girl.

Clearly the least disgusting story of the bunch, Amed allegedly responded to an ad on Backpage.com, believing that he was going to meet a hooker. The working girl actually turned out to be an undercover cop, and the would-be-john was arrested charges of solicitation of a prostitute, and possession of kush.

He was released on $2,250 bond earlier today, and is officially free to go back to his wife --who learned of his arrest from police.

If You Can't Take The Heat!: Oakland Police Chief Quits After 2 Days On The Job

The police chief in Oakland, Calif. has stepped down from his post, just two days after starting the job. The Bay Area city has been plagued by gun violence, which Oakland Police Department Chief Anthony Toribio wasn't ready to deal with.

Toribio's resignation was on the heels of previous chief Howard Jordan abruptly stepping down due to alleged health issues.


Both vacated their positions one week after a federal court unleashed a scathing review of the department's leadership, pointing to faulty police practices, which would've resulted in Jordan's firing.

"I understand that the suddenness of these changes may cause speculation that the challenge we already have will be exacerbated, but in fact the opposite it true," said Mayor Jean Quan.

For now, the OPD's acting chief is 38-year-old Sean Whent, a 17-year veteran of the department. He previously held a position as OPD deputy chief, overseeing risk management, personal assessment, and internal affairs, which all coincidentally happened to be areas of concern by the federal court. "I'll tell you one thing, the thugs on the street are more organized than we are," said Councilman Noel Gallo. "No wonder we have a problem here."

With a population of nearly 400,000 Oakland continues to see crime rates surge, and the police department has struggled to grab hold of the statistics. In 2012 there were 126 murders, the highest numbers since 2006, and up 22 percent from the previous year. Burglaries and robberies also rose, in what former gang member Kevin Grant believes is making for "a real ugly atmosphere right now."

In 2010, a $30.5 million budget deficit resulted in 80 officers and 21 cadets being laid off, but ongoing corruption on the force, and the department's failure to complete reforms which were to be handled in 2008, led to U.S. District Judge Thelton Henderson appointing Thomas Frazier to oversee change efforts. Frazier is also allowed to fire the department's chief.

An internal affairs investigation found that "certain people [in the department] have a hard time being objective when evaluating what police officers are doing," which has been called a "police culture."

No Words: Gucci Mane Pleads Not Guilty To Assaulting Soldier With Champagne Bottle In Atlanta

Gucci Mane pleaded not guilty to aggravated assault charges in Atlanta today according to TMZ.  The 1017 Brick Squad CEO stands accused of hitting a soldier over the head with a champagne bottle at Harlem Nights in March.

James Lettley claims he approached a security guard near where Gucci, real nameRadric Davis, was sitting and asked if he could get get a picture. Instead, Lettley claims Gucci attacked him. His head wound required 10 stitches to close.


Gucci was arrested on March 27th, and later indicted. He spent several weeks in jail before posting $75,000 bail.

The assault charges were a violation of Guwop's probation. After being freed on April 12th, he was rearrested the next day.  The rapper was eventually released again on May 2nd.

Pretending?: Detroit Teen Killed While Pretending To Play Russian Roulette

Detroit is no stranger to tragedy, and on Tuesday, loved ones wept for the senseless death of 16-year-old Antonio O'Neill.

A group of teens including O'Neill skipped school and were kicking it at one of their homes on Detroit's east side Tuesday. The teens were reportedly playing with a gun when it went off, leaving O'Neill shot in the head.

"They were playing with a gun. The gun went off. He got shot in the head, and one of the little boys took off," said Meda Winfield, O'Neill's cousin.

A family friend says the group was playing russian roulette when the firearm went off.

"They were playing roulette inside the house with a gun and whatnot, and it went off by mistake," said Delang Fouter, the family friend.

Winfield says Antonio was a good kid, but had recently began running with the wrong crowd. Police say the deadly gunshot wound was accidentally self-inflicted.

Uncle Sam Don't Play: Lauren Hill Sentenced To 3 Months In Prison

Lauryn Hill was just sentenced to three months in prison for tax evasion. She will also have to spend three additional months on home confinement according to theAssociated Press.

The 37-year old singer pleaded guilty in the case last year. She told the judge that she had intended to pay her taxes, but couldn't during the period of time she dropped out of the music business.

Hill's attorney had sought probation in the case. At this point it is not clear when or where Hill will report to prison.
